Who it suits
- Scars left by cosmetic procedures such as eyelid surgery, epicanthoplasty or rhinoplastyTreated as the fine, specific lines they are, rather than with a broad approach.
- Scars from accidents or other operationsAddressed through flattening, softening and recolouring as needed.
- Fresh scars under six months oldStarting V-Beam early tends to produce the best long-term outcome.

What it does
A scar forms when skin heals with collagen laid down in a disorganised pattern. Treatment responds to what that specific scar is doing: a raised scar is flattened, a depressed one is released and lifted, a red one is decolourised, and a sharp edge is softened so it no longer catches the light. What actually determines the approach is the scar's age, depth and location — not simply what caused it.
How it is planned here
A scar's stage determines which tools come first: early scars are treated with V-Beam to calm redness and limit thickening, while more established scars may need CO2-based pinhole and shouldering to soften edges, laser subcision to release tethering, and fractional resurfacing to even out the surface. Rejuran or PDRN is layered in to support the skin's regeneration throughout.
What to expect
How long redness lasts — anywhere from a few days to two weeks — depends on which modality was used. A typical programme runs three to six sessions spaced six to eight weeks apart, scheduled to fit around your visits to Seoul.
Questions
When should I start?
For a new scar, as soon as the wound has closed; early treatment changes how it matures.
Can an old scar still improve?
Yes. Older scars respond more slowly but still soften, flatten and lighten.
Downtime?
Minimal for V-Beam; about a week for CO2 sessions.
Can acne scars really be improved?
Yes, markedly, though not to perfectly smooth skin. Depressed scars soften and shallow, and the surface evens, over a programme of several sessions. Results differ by scar type, which is why the plan starts with a scar-by-scar examination.
Why combination treatment rather than one laser?
Rolling scars are held down by fibres under the skin; ice-pick scars are narrow and deep; boxcar scars have sharp walls. Each needs a different tool, so one laser applied to everything gives a disappointing result. Subcision, CROSS, collagen injection and matched lasers are combined by scar shape.
How much downtime does scar treatment involve?
Subcision and injection sessions: swelling for three to five days. CO2 laser sessions: redness and fine scabbing for about a week. UltraClear is chosen when you cannot absorb a week of recovery.
I am only in Seoul for a week. Is it worth starting?
Yes. The first session, including subcision, can be done after consultation, and the next session is scheduled around your next visit; sessions are four to eight weeks apart anyway.
Is scar treatment VAT-exempt?
Treatment of a medical condition may be exempt from Korean VAT; cosmetic treatment carries 10%. The quote states which applies.
