What it does
Ellansé works by suspending polycaprolactone (PCL) microspheres inside a gel carrier. The gel itself provides immediate, filler-like volume, and then over the following months, as that gel is absorbed, the PCL spheres take over by stimulating the patient's own collagen production. The M and S versions differ only in how long their spheres persist — roughly one year for S, roughly two for M. Lafullen is the Korean-market PCL product from the same family.
How it is planned here
Within Dr. Koh's structure-first approach, Ellansé functions as the contouring product — placed along the jawline, chin, cheeks and temples according to the Meta-Vu 3D map, and combined with Silhouette Soft threads in cases where lift is also required. What to expect
Mild swelling can be expected for a few days. The immediate volume settles over roughly two weeks, while the collagen-driven result continues building for about three months — after which S holds for around a year and M for around two.
Questions
Ellansé M or S: which should I choose?
S for a first trial or an area you may want to change; M where you are confident of the shape and want it to last two years. The dermatologist advises by area.
Can it be dissolved like hyaluronic acid filler?
No. PCL cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase, which is why placement by an experienced injector matters and why S is sometimes chosen first.
Ellansé or Radiesse?
Both are stimulators with immediate volume. Radiesse (calcium hydroxylapatite) lasts around a year and is often diluted for skin quality; Ellansé lasts up to two years and is used for contour.
What is a skin booster, in plain terms?
A series of tiny injections just under the skin that improve its quality: hydration, smoothness, firmness, pores. It is not a filler, so it does not change your shape; it changes how the skin itself looks and feels.
Which booster is right for me?
That is decided by zone from the Mark-Vu skin analysis, not by brand. Thin, dehydrated skin needs a repair booster such as Rejuran; pores and texture need a collagen stimulator such as Juvelook; deflated areas need a volume stimulator such as Sculptra. Many plans use two products in different zones.
Will people be able to tell I had something done?
Small bumps at the injection points are visible for one to three days and are easily covered with makeup. There is no change in your features.
How many sessions do I need?
Hydrating boosters: three sessions a month apart, then maintenance twice a year. Collagen stimulators: two to three sessions, with the result building over two to three months. A single session still gives a visible improvement.
Is the product genuine?
Yes. The clinic uses only authenticated original vials and shows you the product before injection. The amount agreed at consultation is the amount injected.
