A 1:1 consultation in English with a board-certified dermatologist.

Every consultation here is conducted by a board-certified dermatologist, not a sales coordinator. I recently had a procedure at The Heal Dongdaemun and was very satisfied overall. Dr. Jaeho Lee was efficient and meticulous from start to finish, and kept checking that I was comfortable throughout, so the care felt attentive and professional.

The clinic and the doctor were so kind. They answered all my questions and waited patiently while I decided which treatment to have. The English interpreter was a huge help and made the whole process smooth.

My first aesthetic dermatology visit and I was nervous. From reception to the interpreter, the counsellor and the doctor, they only suggested what I needed and never pushed. When I said I'd skip the forehead Botox this time, the answer was simply 'that's fine'.

The clinic is very clean. After the facial scan the doctor talked through my concerns and explained the recommended treatments, downtime and what to expect in detail. Having an interpreter there put me completely at ease.

Second visit. We came as two and they prepared a two-person room; the Japanese interpreter explained everything carefully so we could choose a plan we understood. The doctor performs the treatment himself, and the aftercare is thorough.

Introduced by a friend. First a machine scan of the face, then the doctor recommends treatments. The consultation was honest and respectful of my budget and the points I cared about, so I could choose with confidence.

English consultation

Your consultation is with the dermatologist, in English, one to one

At many aesthetic clinics in Korea, a foreign patient's first point of contact is a coordinator or a general practitioner rather than a specialist. Here, the first person who discusses your skin with you is a board-certified dermatologist, and Dr. Koh conducts that discussion in English personally, with no interpreter standing between you and the physician.

  • Private consultation room, one patient at a time, no sales coordinator in the room
  • 3D Meta-Vu and Mark-Vu scan reviewed with you on screen, in English
  • Plan, shot counts and price confirmed with the doctor before anything starts
  • Aftercare and follow-up by the same dermatologist, on WhatsApp in English
  • Japanese and Chinese: LINE and WeChat enquiries, with a professional interpreter arranged for the consultation

Academic activity

The doctor who teaches the technique

Dr. Koh does more than operate the devices and products offered here; he also teaches other physicians how to use them. He lectures at device makers' symposia and academy meetings, consults for several manufacturers, and the techniques he presents to colleagues are the same ones applied to patients at this clinic.

  • Why it matters to youA physician invited to lecture on a given device has typically treated a larger number of cases with it, encountered a wider range of complications, and refined its settings well beyond the manufacturer's defaults. What a patient is paying for is that accumulated judgment, not the equipment itself.

Why this clinic

What is actually different here

Dr. Byoungyong Koh examining a patient's skin with a dermatoscope
  1. 01

    Only dermatologists

The Heal is staffed entirely by board-certified dermatologists. Consultation, treatment and follow-up are by the physician who planned your care, not by a consultant or a nurse.

  2. 02

Customising treatment, with the instruments to prove it

3D Meta-Vu records the whole face in one capture; Mark-Vu reads pigment, pores and skin type the eye cannot see. The clinic asks "why?" before it chooses a device, so each plan is built on the real cause.

  3. 03

High-end equipment, genuine tips, agreed shot counts

Twenty-seven premium platforms, chosen one by one. Only authenticated tips and products are used, and the shot count or dose agreed at consultation is the one you receive.

  4. 04

    Private service

Every treatment and skincare session takes place in a single-patient room. Strict sterilisation, emergency equipment and staff safety training are standard.

How a visit works

Four steps, in this order

01

Consultation with a dermatologist

Every patient is seen by one of four board-certified dermatologists. The plan is written by the physician who will treat you.

02

Analysis before the plan

3D Meta-Vu and Mark-Vu record contour, volume, pigment, pores and skin type before any device is chosen.

03

Combination, not a single machine

Treatments with different mechanisms and depths are combined where the skin needs it, and withheld where it does not. No excessive treatment.

04

Review and maintenance

Progress is checked by the dermatologist at follow-up, with a maintenance programme and skincare mentoring to keep the result.

FAQ

Questions we are actually asked

Are the doctors really all dermatologists?

Yes. All four physicians are board-certified dermatologists (피부과 전문의), a qualification held by roughly 2% of doctors in Korea. Their training and society memberships are published in full on the doctors page.

Do I need to speak Korean?

Dr. Koh consults in English and the clinic answers English enquiries on WhatsApp. Japanese and Chinese enquiries are handled through LINE and WeChat. For detailed discussion a professional interpreter can sit in; say so when you message.

Can I be treated on the day I arrive?

For most lifting, booster and injectable treatments, yes, after consultation and the Meta-Vu scan. Scar and melasma programmes and tattoo removal are staged over months and are planned around your visits.

Are prices published?

Yes. The price list on this site is the clinic's own, in Korean won; cosmetic treatment carries 10% VAT. Shot counts and volumes are confirmed at consultation, and anything not listed is quoted after the scan.

Is there a tax refund?

No. Korea's medical tax refund for foreign patients has ended.

Where exactly is the clinic?

On the second floor of Hillstate Cheongnyangni The First, one minute on foot from Exit 6 of Cheongnyangni Station (Line 1, Suin-Bundang, Gyeongui-Jungang and Gyeongchun lines, and KTX). About 20 minutes by train from Seoul Station.

I have never had an aesthetic treatment. Will I be pressured to buy something?

No. The clinic's promise is no excessive treatment. The consultation is with the dermatologist, not a sales coordinator, and patients regularly leave with one treatment or none. Several Google reviews from first-time visitors say exactly that.

What happens at the first visit, step by step?

Reception, then a 3D Meta-Vu and Mark-Vu skin scan, then a private one-to-one consultation with the dermatologist who reviews the scan with you in English and proposes a plan with prices. If you agree, most treatments are done the same day in a private room; you leave with aftercare instructions and a WhatsApp contact for follow-up.

How do I pay, and is there a deposit?

Pay at the clinic after treatment by overseas credit card or cash; no deposit is required for a consultation. Prices are in Korean won and cosmetic treatment carries 10% VAT, which is stated on the quote.

Can I bring a friend or partner into the consultation?

Yes. Consultation rooms are private and the clinic has two-person treatment rooms for friends visiting together.

What should I avoid before treatment?

Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids and sun exposure for a few days before laser treatment, and alcohol and blood-thinning supplements for 24 hours before injections. The clinic sends a short pre-visit note on WhatsApp once you book.

What if I have a problem after I fly home?

Message the clinic on WhatsApp with a photo; the dermatologist who treated you reviews it. For anything urgent you should also see a doctor locally. Treatment records in English are provided on request.
